French harpsichordist, teacher and composer. Son of François-Joseph
Gossec (1734-1829) and Marie-Elizabeth Georges, he probably received
lessons from his father. Later, he worked in Paris as a Piano-Forte
teacher, and also there he published his works; 'Six Folies musicales
His life apparently
was unconventional as evidenced by a letter (March 1803) from his father
to the "quartier de loier" in which he refuses to 'continue paying the
rent for his 43-year-old son...' After 1803, his life remains unknown.
