Edwaert Collier (Breda, 26 de gener de 1642 - London, setembre de 1708) va ser un pintor holandès. Fill de Joses Calier i Elsken Engelberts, va ser batejat a Breda com Evert Calier el 26 de gener de 1642. Es desconeix qui va ser el seu mestre però es creu va rebre formació a Haarlem, on el 1663 es va registrar en el Gremi de Sant Lluc. Posteriorment, va treballar a Leiden, on va contreure matrimoni, pel que sembla fins a tres vegades, i a on va fixar-hi la seva residència des del 1667 i fins el 1706, Des d'allà va realitzar viatges esporàdics a Àmsterdam i a Londres. Com a pintor, va rebre la influència d'autors com Pieter Claesz i Vincent Laurensz. van der Vinne i va centrar la seva temàtica en natures mortes del gènere vanitas. Va morir a Londres el setembre de 1708.

Johann Ernst Galliard (Celle?, c.1687 - London, 18 de febrer de 1749) va ser un compositor anglès. Es creu va néixer a Celle, ciutat on el seu pare francès era un fabricant de perruques. A partir dels 15 anys va començar a rebre formació en composició, oboè i flauta de Jean-Baptiste Farinel, un director musical de la cort d'Hannover, i amb Abbate Steffani. A partir d'aleshores, va iniciar una carrera d'intèrpret assolint notable èxit amb la presentació d'algunes de les seves obres. Arrel d'aquests èxits, va ser nomenat músic de cambra de George de Dinamarca i mestre de capella de la Somerset House. A Anglaterra va esdevenir un músic àmpliament popular fins el punt que va freqüentar l'alta societat i la reialesa. En aquest sentit, també va ser autor d'obres de caràcter cerimonial i solemne com un Te Deum, entre altres. Va ser membre fundador de l'Academy of Ancient Music. No obstant, i amb l'esdevenir fulgurant d'Händel, el seu nom va començar a desaparèixer d'escena tot i l'estrena de la seva òpera Calypso and Telemachus (1712). Un any després es va unir a l'òpera italiana d'Händel com a oboè solista. Va viure gran part de la seva vida a Londres, ciutat on va morir el febrer de 1749.
